New State Credit Advisory Board
New State Capital Partners has assembled its Credit Advisory Board with individuals who have outstanding experience and perspectives on the credit markets and who have close relationships with New State and its principals. The board will convene periodically to advise New State on its various interactions with the credit markets, including:
- Private equity investment new acquisition financing
- Private equity portfolio company re-financings
- Impact of credit markets on buyside and sell-side M&A strategies
- Direct investments in credit
The Credit Advisory Board also endeavors to provide introductions to capital providers and guidance on capital structures to owners and managers of middle market companies across the United States. Individual arrangements will be made to avoid any conflicts of interests.
Board Members
Geoff Coar
Geoff is Senior Vice President of Opus Bank and is responsible for leading Orange County, CA and San Diego Commercial Banking debt originations and client management with a focus on companies with annual revenues between $10 to $150 million. Prior to joining Opus Bank in 2014, he was Senior Vice President of US Bank Commercial Banking Orange County and Citibank Commercial Banking Orange County and San Diego focused on middle market lending. Mr. Coar began his 25 year career with Wells Fargo Commercial Banking in 1995. Mr. Coar is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Geoff Anfuso
Geoff is the Director of Corporate Deposits in Stretto’s Corporate Restructuring practice. Prior to Stretto, Mr. Anfuso led all C&I lending activities as Co-Chief Lending Officer for Opus Bank, an $8B asset bank headquartered in Irvine, CA. Mr. Anfuso joined Opus after 10 years at Wells Fargo, primarily spent leading teams at Wells Fargo Capital Finance (formerly Foothill Capital). Mr. Anfuso began his nearly 20 year career as a turnaround and restructuring consultant in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Financial Advisory Group. Mr. Anfuso is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Daniel Han
Daniel joined New State Capital Partners in 2020 to lead Special Strategies. He brings 20 years of distressed credit, private equity and investment banking experience across a variety of industries, including industrials, metals, financials, infrastructure and consumer retail. Mr. Han has served on ten corporate boards, including those of publicly-listed companies. Previously, he was the Co-Head of North American Investments at Strategic Value Partners, an $8B distressed credit investment manager based in Connecticut. Prior to Strategic Value Partners, Mr. Han served as a Principal at Wellspring Capital Management, a $3B middle-market buyout fund, where he sat on the investment committee and led transactions across the industrial and consumer sectors. He started his career in the M&A group of J.P. Morgan in New York. Mr. Han graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, with a concentration in Finance.
David Blechman
Dave is a Senior Principal and Founder of New State Capital Partners. He has more than 25 years of experience in credit from various perspectives. For five years, he worked on complex debt restructurings at The Blackstone Group. As a principal investor since 2005, Mr. Blechman has raised acquisition financing, refinanced and restructured credits and invested in credit positions directly. Previously, he served as Adjunct Professor of Finance at Columbia Business School where he taught a class in distressed value investing. Dave received his undergraduate degree in economics from University of Chicago and earned his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
